Michael Amodei

Michael Amodei, Executive Editor of Adolescent Catechesis

When did you first come to AVE?

I began working at Ave Maria Press in June, 1993.

What was your childhood ambition?

Until ninth grade, I thought I would be a major league baseball player. When athletic realty set in, I wanted to be a sports writer covering baseball.

What is your favorite food?

I love pizza but I order it with no cheese. Besides being slightly more healthy, I am really into the sauce and crust.

Who is your greatest inspiration?

I am going to go with my youngest son, James. He has blasted through several labels and learning challenges from his early years and will graduate from high school in May 2015. And, by then he will also have earned six college credits.

Favorite sports team?

I have four favorite sports’ teams. I was born into a Notre Dame “subway alumni” family. The Fighting Irish will always come first. I love Notre Dame with all my life. I have been a LA Dodger baseball fan for 50 years. (Since moving to the Midwest, my second baseball team is the Chicago White Sox.) I also jumped on the Chicago Blackhawk bandwagon in 2010 and have never gotten off. Go Hawks!
