We are seeking a motivated and strategic Curriculum Sales Manager to lead efforts in sharing our curriculum textbooks with Catholic schools across the country.

What You’ll Do

Drive Curriculum Sales Growth

  • Lead efforts to develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed curriculum sales goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including principals, teachers, and administrators, keeping them informed about new products and updates.
  • Manage all steps of the sales cycle, from prospecting to closing sales, ensuring a streamlined and professional experience for customers.
  • Track adoption review interest and sales performance across all channels (direct, distributor, eBook, etc.), providing regular reports and analysis.
  • Conduct customer surveys, initiate industry research, and coordinate focus groups to better understand and serve textbook customers. Analyze results, report findings, and make actionable recommendations.

Foster Relationships and Represent Ave Maria Press

  • Represent Ave Maria Press at conferences, events, school visits, and workshops (travel required, including occasional weekends)
  • Responsible for outreach to teachers to organize meetings in various cities to promote our textbook series.
  • Serve as a primary liaison between schools and internal teams, ensuring smooth coordination of quotes, contracts, and orders.
  • Manage relationships with textbook distributors and other vendors to ensure our products are well-represented, reporting is accurate, and sales channels continue to grow.

Collaborate on Marketing and Engagement

  • Craft compelling sales materials, presentations, and promotional campaigns tailored to Catholic schools. Collaborate with the marketing team for execution of these materials.
  • Coordinate teacher-focused outreach, including email campaigns, flyers, and catalogs.
  • Provide input for video and digital resource development to support teachers using our textbooks.
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Manager to identify catechetical trends, generate product development ideas, and coordinate event scheduling.

Support Innovation and Insight

  • Conduct customer surveys, industry research, and focus groups to understand educators’ needs and challenges.
  • Analyze trends and sales data to inform strategic decisions and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure our curriculum’s strong online presence.

Manage Operational Excellence

  • Oversee textbook-related communications, such as managing curriculum emails and approving teacher online resource requests daily.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings, budgeting processes, and cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Develop clear, engaging copy and messaging for textbooks, aligning with Ave Maria Press’s mission and effectively communicating the value of our curriculum to educators and stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Education, or a related field; theological coursework a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or marketing, preferably in education or publishing.
  • Active, practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of the Catholic high school market.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of CRM platforms preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Position Details

  • This is a full-time salaried position. The expected work hours are 37.5 hours per week, between the business hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (ET), Monday through Friday. Travel required, including occasional weekends.
  • This role is based in Notre Dame, Indiana. Candidates should be committed to being integrated into our company culture and contributing to our team’s success.
