Wonderfully Made: A Catholic Introduction to Philosophy and Bioethics: Teacher’s Manual provides resources and strategies to support teachers as they introduce students to the foundations of philosophy and how philosophical principles apply to bioethics and the dignity of the human person. This USCCB-approved course in the new special resource category can be used as an elective, as a senior seminar, or as a supplement to existing curricula, including with a morality or social justice course.
The Teacher’s Manual provides suggestions for teaching the course, including the following:
Chapter Resources: Each chapter begins with a chapter overview, chapter outline, key terms, clear objectives, and additional references for teacher background and/or student enrichment.
Each section includes
• a brief preview of the Student Text;
• a focus question with a sample answer;
• answers to comprehension and vocabulary items, and suggestions for assessing reflection items;
• one teaching approach for deeper understanding and real-life connections;
• an enrichment activity; and
• background information for teachers.
Chapter Project: Tips for assigning and assessing the chapter project are found in Student Text.
Chapter Wrap-Up Ideas: Suggestions are included for reviews, project follow-up, enrichment activities—including videos and the Hero of Virtue feature—and prayer integration.
