HALLOW'S PRAY40 LENT BOOK CHALLENGE PICK! See the Lent reading plan here.

The Brothers Karamazov is widely recognized as one of the greatest novels ever written. Its power lies not in the drama between the brothers, the intrigue of its murder mystery, or the suspense of its courtroom finale, but in the questions at its heart: Is God real? And if He is, then what does that mean for me?

At its core, it is a story of fathers and sons—of a father’s sins and the brokenness of his children, each struggling with who God is and what they owe to one another. Dmitri’s reckless passion mirrors his father’s corruption, Ivan’s cold rationalism rebels against it, and Alyosha’s tender compassion reflects the quiet holiness of his mentor, the soldier-turned-monk Father Zossima.

Through their tragic, comic, and deeply human collision, Dostoevsky shows how sin and love ripple outward, shaping the lives of all who are connected to us. He invites each of us to step toward mercy: to confront our divided hearts, to return to God, and to be drawn back into authentic communion with one another. In the end, as Father Zossima teaches, “Love is such a priceless treasure that you can redeem the whole world by it.”

    The Brothers Karamazov

The book was delivered in a timely manner purchased as a gift for my husband to read during Lent to follow along with the Hallow app. It arrived in perfect condition - a classic to read, share with others and reference time and again.

    The Brothers Karamazov

What a book for the soul and for a Lenten Study Program! I started reading it before Pray40 Lent, with the Hallow app, and just finished this past Sunday. Having read the book, helps me with Jonathan Roumie's and Sister Miriam's Monday's through Wednesday's lessons, Fr Mike's incredible Sunday sermons, Chris and Mark's encouraging messages on Fridays, Jeff's interviews on Saturdays, Fr Burns insightful witness on Thursdays. Wow, they ALL "nail it" with what this heart and soul needs to hear AND they bring to life the "masterpiece" that Dostoevsky created from his heart and soul! Amen (And, yes, I will reread "Brothers Karamazov," sometime in the future)

    The Brothers Karamazov

I purchased this book for the Lent40 Program through Hallow. It is over781 pages. Even though it is a large book I am determined to finish it.

    Taking me a while..

The story is very compelling but I am reading each chapter slowly to absorb all the details of each character.
