The Editorial Department at Ave Maria Press is looking for an intern to join the department for the 2026–2027 school year. The intern will learn about the editorial and publishing process by working with and for the editors in a collaborative community environment. The intern should be familiar with The Chicago Manual of Style, 18th edition.

Your Role as an Ave Maria Press Intern:
At Ave Maria Press, we believe in investing in your growth and success. As an intern, your duties will include:
- Performing copyediting and proofreading tasks on manuscripts and page proofs.
- Studying and using the Chicago Manual of Style.
- Researching, both at the library and online.
- Participating in team and department brainstorming meetings.
- Working independently and collaboratively on multiple tasks.

You should have an English, Communication, or other applicable major, such as Theology or Liberal Studies. You should be in your senior year at the start of the internship.
Note: This internship is part-time (paid or for academic credit) and requires approximately 8–10 hours per week. Ave Maria Press is located on the north end of the University of Notre Dame campus. The role may be performed remotely; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states where Ave Maria Press is currently authorized to employ individuals: Indiana, Michigan, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or Kansas, due to payroll and tax requirements.
Term Length: 2026–2027 School Year, beginning in August 2026.
Requirements: Undergraduate students majoring in English, Journalism, Education, or Theology are encouraged to apply. Computer experience and familiarity with the internet are required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software and interest in book publishing as a career is a plus.
