Publicity & Advertising
AVE Author HQWill Ave Maria Press send review copies to magazines, newspapers, and bloggers?
We will develop a press kit to send to various media outlets, bloggers, and influencers. Some books will have a limited number of advanced printed galleys for distribution to select media. All books will have a limited number of printed review copies sent to media, bloggers, and influencers around the publication date of the book. Prior to publication, we can send a link to the digital NetGalley for most books to media and bloggers who want an early copy for review. Please send us an Excel document of media contacts, bloggers, and influencers (including their names, mailing addresses, and email addresses) that you believe would be interested in reviewing either the NetGalley or printed review copy of your book. We will add them to our list if they are not already there.
Will Ave Maria Press send review copies to family, friends, and colleagues?
We will send a link to the NetGalley version of the book to up to 25 family, friends, and colleagues who would be willing to review the book on Amazon for you. Please send us an Excel document with names and email addresses. The book must be read on a computer, Kindle or other eReader, or the free NetGalley app (the easiest way). Authors should follow up with this list to ensure each person posts the Amazon review after the book is available.

How do I get interviews on radio and TV shows?
We will send Catholic radio and TV producers, bloggers, podcasters, and other media a press kits and pitch your book in creative ways to gain interviews on shows and reviews or interviews in print media and blogs. We have relationships with the key producers in Catholic media, but please send us additional media contacts you might have so we can arrange these interviews. We encourage you to follow up with your personal media contacts as well.

Will there be any advertisements about my book?
We place ads in various Catholic and secular outlets, including newspapers, magazines, event programs, websites, and radio stations. Additionally, we run ads on Google Ads, social media, websites, and podcasts for some books. We carefully evaluate advertising opportunities and often feature books in group ads in order to get the most effective results. Some of the publications and sites where we advertise regularly include: Aleteia, America, Blessed Is She, National Catholic Register, National Catholic Reporter, Our Sunday Visitor, and US Catholic. Please contact the marketing manager to let her know if you have specific publications or websites in mind that might be a good fit for your book or audience.
Can I get marketing and promotional materials to use for social media and events?
We will create flyers, catalogs, direct mail pieces, advertisements, and emails to support the marketing of your book. We are more than happy to share preorder discount codes or other sale codes with you that you can pass along through your channels. Reach out to the marketing manager if you’d like a preorder/new release discount code to share with your audience.
We also are more than happy to design graphics for social media, event signage, flyers, and other promotional pieces upon request. Please make these requests at least three weeks in advance of when you need them to ensure we have the time for them to be created and mailed to you.
Request these materials by filling out the online form. This survey lists the typical types of graphics we create. You are welcome to submit it as many times as needed. If there is something that you’d like that you don’t find listed, please contact the marketing manager to learn whether it would be possible.
We can also send you color codes and graphics from your book cover (as long as they are not rights-managed) for you to create your own graphics. Templates for programs such as Canva can also be designed to allow you the freedom to make as many additional versions as you might need.
