About Us & Position Description
Ave Maria Press, a Catholic publishing house located in Notre Dame, Indiana, committed to setting hearts on fire through our work, is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Inside Sales Representative from October through May. The primary focus of this role is to generate sales through proactive outbound calling and email, connecting parishes, dioceses, Catholic organizations, bookstores, and individual customers with books and resources that support their faith and ministry.
The Inside Sales Representative will also assist with inbound sales inquiries and customer service needs, but success in this position will be measured by a willingness to pick up the phone and reach out to customers, build relationships, identify needs, and turn conversations into sales. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is personable, goal-oriented, comfortable making outbound calls, and eager to contribute to the growth of a mission-driven publishing house.
What You'll Do
- Building relationships with existing and potential customers through calls, emails, and video chats
- Listening and consulting with customers on products to meet their needs
- Qualifying leads and following up on website, email and phone requests
- Educating customers on website navigation
- Keeping database up-to-date with call notes and orders
- Maintaining product knowledge of appropriate products
- Answer inbound customer calls and emails
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in inside sales/customer service
- Self-driven mindset and ability to meet sales quotas and establish follow up plans with customers with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working in Shopify is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Positive can-do attitude and pleasant phone voice and demeanor
- Strong knowledge of the Catholic faith and interest in our products
- Experience working in ERP systems (SAGE 100 preferred)
Physical/Work Requirements
- Position requires regular onsite presence during standard business hours
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
Position Details
- This is a part-time hourly position of approximately 20-25 hours per week between the business hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM (EST), Monday through Friday.
- The position is located at our office in Notre Dame, Indiana. The exact schedule will be discussed and decided upon during the interview and offer stage.
- Travel Expectations: None.
