This Lent, embark on a transformative journey with Sr. Josephine Garrett, CSFN, into the interior wilderness of your heart, where you’ll invite Jesus to heal and renew you with His love.
In the third week of Lent, Sr. Josephine Garrett, CSFN, reflects on a common struggle many people face today—the tendency to obsess over their brokenness, woundedness, and sin.
Sr. Josephine candidly acknowledges this reality, saying, “Yes, our hearts are broken. Yes, we will die with a broken heart.” Yet, she reminds us of the profound hope found in the gospel—Christ’s heart, too, was broken—but it was broken open for us. From his open heart flows a font of mercy, a stream of blood and water poured out for our healing and redemption.
Instead of fixating on our wounds and brokenness, Sr. Josephine urges us to turn our attention to this inexhaustible font of love and mercy flowing from Christ’s heart.
Pray for the grace of repentance, joy, and gratitude. Let your reflections on sin lead you to peace, not despair. May they bear the fruits of joy, gratitude, and a deeper repentance.
As you open yourself to Christ’s love, that love will flow into your heart and fill it completely.
